A BEND (OR TWO) IN THE RIVER

The Clark Fork of the Columbia as it passes the town of Plains, Montana, headed for Idaho and the mighty Columbia.  The Clark Fork is the largest river in Montana (carrying the most water out of the state), even more than the Missouri which is second.  Photo taken from the top of Pat's Knob, the second highest mountain in the Coeur d'Alene range of the Bitterroot Mountains which forms the boundary between Montana and Idaho in this part of the state.
