Owning a classic car has certainly added some spice to my life.   For one thing, I'm hanging around a lot more straight people than I usually do.  Aren't there any gay men who are interested in old cars?  Yesterday, August 13th, I joined the Garden City Rods and Customs for a Fun Run.  We drove through some absolutely gorgeous country and I was longing to stop and spend some time behind my camera, but no.  They were there to drive, and drive they did.  80+ miles per hour on some stretches.  My poor little TR7 could barely keep up with these 1930s hot rods.  Oh yeah, they looked like cars from the 30s, but they sure didn't run like that.  Then the temperature climbed to nearly 100 degrees.  It was hotter in Missoula yesterday than it was in Dallas.  My Triumph of British engineering just couldn't stand the heat.  But those 1937 Fords and Chevys just kept going, and going, and going.  Oh well.  Glad I didn't take the Frazer.  It's completely stock and wouldn't have gone over 60.  I'd have lost the pack in the first five miles.
